But that is about to change: From July 1, 2025, all full-time employees will have a uniform working time of 35 hours per week. However, employees in partial retirement and part-time workers are exempt from this new regulation News38 reported.

This measure is part of the ‘Future Collective Agreement’, which was signed on December 20, 2024. An adaptable shell contract for VW employees ensures that the changes can be implemented smoothly. What is interesting is that those who were already employed full-time at VW on December 31, 2004 are not affected by these new regulations.

Uniform working hours for everyone

The new regulation aims to harmonize work processes within the company and increase planning ability for employees.
