Bronze Star of Sports for Elmshorn Youth Club: A sign of sustainability!

Last week a special event was celebrated at the VR Bank in Pinneberg: the celebratory award ceremony for the Bronze Star of Sports. On September 3, 2025 at 6:30 p.m., 22 talented applicants gathered to present their groundbreaking projects and take advantage of the chance to win an award. Just one of the many innovative ideas presented that evening was the FFE (Fortuna Elmshorn) “YOUTHCLUB green planet” project, which deals with a common vision of sustainability, environmental awareness and integration opportunities in sport. The award ceremony was led by Marc Müller from KSV Pinneberg and Bettina Fischer, managing director of the community foundation, while Uwe Augstein from VR Bank opened the event. In an atmosphere full of tension, the bronze star was finally presented to the representatives of the YOUTHCLUB. Among the joyful attendees were youth officer Melissa Velcani, Elke Lohse and migration officer Claudia König, who accepted the award and thus acknowledged the association's successful efforts.

A place to meet and learn

The YOUTHCLUB green planet project not only offers its members the opportunity to develop sustainable ideas, but also promotes exchange among each other. A central element of the project is the exchange café that was founded, where sports clothing and equipment can be exchanged. This café serves not only as a swap meet, but also as a meeting place for the community. Visitors can not only enjoy tea, but also play board games and exchange ideas in a fun way.

On September 13, 2025, the Tauschcafé will once again be the focus when the FFE Band provides musical entertainment. Another cooperation with the Reading Foundation and the KUNSTpraxis Samter ensures that a reading club is created for the children's enjoyment. The Berlin State Sports Association emphasizes that... Commitment and other goals

By receiving the bronze star of sport, the YOUTHCLUB is highly motivated to achieve further successes in the future. The project has not only received a lot of attention in Elmshorn, but could also inspire other sports clubs. The focus of the commitment is the integration of children and young people and awareness of environmental issues.

The competition, in which the bronze star is awarded, is supported by various institutions to reward innovative approaches to promoting community and integration. The positive feedback from those responsible and the enthusiastic faces at the award ceremony are clear proof that something big is happening here - and not just in Pinneberg, but throughout Germany.
