On Sunday morning, June 15, 2025, a tragic traffic accident occurred in the Segeberg district that shocked the region. At 6:17 a.m., a driver drove his vehicle head-on into a tree on Hamdorfer Straße in Daldorf. According to initial investigations, the man who was alone in the car was from the Segeberg district. Tragically, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the accident. The exact circumstances that led to this serious accident are still unclear and no other road users were involved in the incident. This is reported by the Lübeck news.

Head-on collision in Bad Segeberg
Another unfortunate example occurred on August 2, 2024, also in the Bad Segeberg district. This Friday morning there was a head-on collision on the B205 between Ricklingen and Wahlstedt, in which a total of seven people were injured, including three children. An Audi with Danish license plates and a VW were involved, with the 38-year-old driver of the Audi being seriously injured. He and his passenger were taken to hospital in critical condition. The alleged son of the Audi driver, an 11-year-old boy, was also seriously injured. The occupants of the VW, including a one-year-old and a six-year-old child, suffered minor injuries.
The fire department had a lot to do, as around 70 emergency services were on duty for almost three hours to secure the accident site and treat the injured. Federal Highway 205 was closed until 2 p.m., but was reopened afterwards while the Kiel public prosecutor's office requested experts to reconstruct the course of the accident in more detail.
