Kiel Week 2025: Travel now with new mobility offers!

The anticipation for Kiel Week is growing! From June 21st to 29th, 2025, Kiel will once again become a meeting point for millions of visitors. To ensure that the festival is an unforgettable experience for everyone involved, the city has developed a well-thought-out mobility concept that is intended to make the journey, stay and departure as pleasant as possible. Loud NDR Local transport providers will play a key role in this.

The railway companies increase the frequency of their trains, especially on weekends. With a minimum offer of two trains per hour and connections between Kiel and Neumünster even three times from the afternoon onwards, the offer offers a stress-free journey. Particularly noteworthy are the late night connections on various routes, which ensure that guests can get home well into the night.

More than just trains

In order to be able to cope with the number of visitors at Kieler Woche, the Kieler Verkehrsbetriebe (KVG) is also implementing various measures. A particularly noteworthy product is the “Kieler-Woche-Ticket”, which is valid for ten days for 13 euros. However, visitors should note that the ticket cannot be used from Monday to Friday between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. So that everyone can get around during Kiel Week without stress, additional KVG buses are also used, especially in the evenings and on weekends. This is well complemented by the new Kiellinien Express, which runs between the main station and the Reventlou Bridge.

The volunteer rickshaw pilots are of particular help, enabling comfortable transportation, especially for older people. However, drivers should be careful: many roads are closed during Kiel Week. Drivers have to be prepared for restrictions, especially on the Kieler Hörn. It is therefore advisable to park outside of Kiel and use public transport.

To make things easier during Kiel Week, there are special parking spaces for campers and motorhomes on Koesterallee and Nordmole of Scheerhafen. Online information about parking occupancy is also available, so visitors can better plan their journey.
