A new highlight in the summer program of the Lübeck cultural world is the revue “Hotel Las Ananas”, which will be performed on the theater ship from July 4th. The story of Anna, who does everything she can to save the run-down hotel that is about to close, is told here with a lot of charm and a pinch of chaos. The Kulturportal Lübeck highlights that the hotel has no guests and everyday life is bleakly boring until Anna and her chaotic team develop creative ideas to bring life back into the hotel.
Upcoming events include a wild 90s party, a casino night and plenty of surprises to delight holidaymakers. The atmosphere is described as a colorful mix of strange employees, unusual guests and lots of music. A wide range of music styles are offered, from hits to musicals to pop and rock from the 60s to 90s, all of which spread a very positive summer feeling.

The revue will be presented on the lower deck of the theater ship until the end of July 2025 and is part of the guest performance series of the Plau am See Castle Festival, as reported by NDR Kultur. The story revolves around the crew who share absurd experiences in everyday hotel life. Asya Pritchard embodies the naive Daria and complements the ensemble with her eye-catching hairpiece, which she humorously calls “weasel”.
The audience is actively involved in the performance, so singing along and answering questions is not only permitted, but also encouraged. Director Manuel Ettel adapted the piece for the theater ship, and the concept was extremely well received by the audience. The theater ship is also planning to offer free entry for its birthday party, which should create an additional party atmosphere.
A look outside the box
At the same time, the Schmidt Theater is busy with the premiere of the revue “Oberaffengeil”. With 75 hits and 160 costumes, this homage to the 80s and 90s offers a dazzling experience that awakens nostalgic feelings. According to MOPO, the show includes numerous allusions to the flashy fads and the special attitude to life of this time.
