Green-Gold Bremen celebrates its 20th title – Albanese is planning to say goodbye!
There was a great spectacle in Bremen last weekend when the German Latin Championships took place in the Bremen town hall. Over 7,000 dance sports fans experienced an exciting event that had many emotional moments. The defending champions, the Green-Gold Club Bremen, came up with a new choreography and were able to leave the competition behind once again.
Under the direction of trainer Roberto Albanese, the Green-Gold Club's Latin band presented their debut choreography “Last Dance”. This was awarded an outstanding 35.83 points and secured the club its 20th championship title. Albanese, who plans to retire from the front row at the end of 2026 after 30 years, was visibly moved. Before the competition, he shared emotional moments with his team to focus on the competition. “Now our focus is on the upcoming World Cup in Wiener Neustadt,” emphasized the coach, whose team performed clearly and confidently.
Excitement and cheers in the town hall
The competition began on November 15th with the preliminary rounds, in which the green and gold team appeared seventh and was greeted with loud cheers. How Sports show reported, the GGC immediately pulled the audience along. In the preliminary rounds, however, some teams such as 1. TC Ludwigsburg and TSG Bremerhaven had to withdraw after the first round. Albanese pointed out that his team showed a few inaccuracies at first, but still celebrated frenetically in the final round.
