Football fans in northern Germany can look forward to exciting weeks as SV Werder Bremen has intensified its preparations for the new season. The club is about to play a friendly against Dutch club NEC Nijmegen. This was announced for August 1st at 6 p.m. in the Goffert Stadium, but it remains unclear whether this plan will be implemented. When asked, Werder Bremen did not officially confirm the game and points out that the plans for the games during the training camp in Zillertal have not yet been completed, like the Deichstube reported.
The training camp in Zell am Ziller, Austria, will take place from July 22nd to 31st and is the 14th edition in this picturesque region. SV Werder Bremen plans to play two games during their stay. So far, the test matches on July 12th against FC Verden 04 and on July 19th against Kickers Emden have already been confirmed, both kick-offs are scheduled for 3:30 p.m. A possible game against the Spanish club RCD Mallorca, which is in Tyrol at the same time, is also being considered, so an interesting duel could perhaps take place here 90min.
The new look at next season
After a season that was quite satisfactory for Werder Bremen, but only narrowly missed out on a place in European competition, the club is breaking new ground.
