A7 closure in Hamburg: 55 hours chaos on weekends!
A very special weekend is imminent in Hamburg: From Friday, July 18 at 10 p.m. to Monday, July 21st at 5 a.m., the A7 will be completely closed for a whopping 55 hours. This section concerns the area north of the Elbe tunnel between the Hamburg-Schnelsen junction and the Hamburg-Nordwest triangle. The reason for the blocking? The technical upgrade of the noise protection tunnel. After eight years in the company, all computer components and the software are replaced here.
For everyone who depends on the A7, a spacious diversion via the A1, A21 and the B205 is recommended. Depirtions are also set up in the city in order to maintain the flow of traffic as much as possible. The last full closure of the A7 took place in early July and also included the Elbe tunnel. Now that the holiday season has started in some federal states, there could be in addition to traffic jams in the city, especially through various events.
the following closures are also before
This measure is only one of many that will take place in the course of the A7 expansion in Hamburg. Further planned full closures are already scheduled:
- 26. until September 29: Elbe tunnel, K20 and tunneal center - switching and exams.
- 17. until October 20: Maintenance and technology in the tunnel operation of the Elbe tunnel.
- 7. until November 10: Construction and test measures on the Hochstraße K20.
- 14. until November 17: maintenance and technology tests in the Tunnel Stellingen.
- 6. Until December 7th: At night, working in the main tunnel on Hochstraße K20.
The noise protection tunnel in Hamburg-Schnelsen will also be closed again and again in the coming months to enable complete use. The first block according to the current one is due from August 16 to 18, where the road is affected towards Flensburg/Kiel and Heide between Stellingen and Schnelsen/Eidelstedt. Here, an open -minded asphalt is laid on about five kilometers of highway, which is the goal of the noise reduction.
Overall, there are a lot to consider for all drivers: inside. From June 2022, traffic will be led by the western tube of the noise protection tunnel. From October 25th to 28th, the new Ostrohre will be put into operation, and the third block from December 6th to 9th has the consequence that all traffic will then flow through both tubes on two traces. From spring 2020, complete use should take place in three lanes.
For all Hamburgers: Inside and travelers, it is to be hoped that the detours will work well and the waiting times will remain manageable. It is worth taking a closer look, because the new developments in the transport system also promise a noise reduction and thus more quality of life in the region.
