FC St. Pauli: Conversion of the training place - visiting stopped for the time being!

Kollaustraße, 20359 Hamburg, Deutschland - The anticipation for the upcoming games of FC St. Pauli is great, but the club is currently treating itself to a construction site. On Kollaustraße, a second grass field is converted into a modern hybrid turf. This happens during the professional training camp in Austria, as reported on the official FC St. Pauli website.

The renovation work, which will take several weeks, also have some restrictions. For security reasons, visiting the training is not possible for the time being. If you want to watch the professionals during training, you have to be patient, because regular access is not accessible during this time. Information on the reopening of the training visit will be announced on the homepage of the association in good time.

Future -oriented investments

In August 2024, a first step was already taken in the right direction when the training center was expanded by a hybrid turf pitch. The healer team took over the work on behalf of the association and ensured that the old lawn layer was properly removed. The new training ground, which now comprises an area of 8,700 m², is equipped with a state-of-the-art drainage system and irrigated by 12 sub-circuit and six full-circuit glans, as can be found on the website of Heiler Sport (Heiler Sport).

The hybrid drass system that is used here is particularly remarkable. It combines the best properties of natural grass and artificial turf. The sowed natural lawn strands form the basis, reinforced by synthetic fibers that are 20 centimeters long and are incorporated with 2,500 stitches per square meter. This innovative technology is intended to maximize both the game quality and the longevity of the lawn.

A look into the future

The conversion measures are part of a comprehensive plan to improve the association's infrastructure. Investments in modern technologies and sustainable solutions show that FC St. Pauli is willing to take a step into the future. Fans can be excited to see how the new circumstances will affect training and games.

until the construction work is completed and the training visit is possible again, it means: being patient and keeping an eye on the progress. So FC St. Pauli stays on the ball - even away from the field!
