Schlagermove 2025: Hundreds of thousands celebrate in St. Pauli!
On June 30, 2025, the Hamburg cityscape will once again be characterized by a colorful parade of hits, as the hit move will once again be moving through St. Pauli. The event, which has been an integral part of Hamburg's holiday culture since 1997, is expecting hundreds of thousands of visitors this year. Last year there were around 400,000, and this year a similar number of party-loving guests are expected. The parade begins at 3 p.m. and moves from the Heiligengeistfeld via well-known hotspots back to the starting point.
The route leads over Millerntorplatz and Landungsbrücken to the Reeperbahn before the colorful trucks and their passengers return to Heiligengeistfeld. The vehicles will be lined up at 1 p.m. and a large team of 300 paramedics will take care of safety. There are around 500 sanitary facilities provided along the route, which is good news for all those celebrating.
Preparations are underway
To ensure that everything runs smoothly, parts of St. Pauli and the Reeperbahn will be closed until 3 a.m. Given the high number of visitors and the festive hustle and bustle, it is advisable to plan your journey by public transport, especially since the A7 between Hamburg-Stellingen and Hamburg-Heimfeld is completely closed for the entire weekend.
The aftermove party following the move promises to be another highlight. This starts around 5:30 p.m. in two large party tents on the Heiligengeistfeld, and tickets are required for access. In addition to DJ Vossi, a Wolfgang Petry double and singer Norman Langen will provide the musical accompaniment, meaning the hit celebration will continue until late into the night.
A festive weekend
A warm-up party will take place on Friday, July 4, 2025, which will also be celebrated in the Schlagermove Scha-la-la-lager© party tent and in the Party Hall on the Heiligengeistfeld. Among others, a Nena double and the entertainer Jürgen Peter will be on stage here.
Participation in the parade itself is free and open to everyone, which underlines a cozy and sociable character. Around 50 trucks will take part in the colorful parade, which will create a good atmosphere along the set route of over five kilometers. Despite the large crowds, the organizers are challenged because in Hamburg large public events with more than 10,000 participants must be approved. Factors such as the risk potential and the condition of the event site also play an important role. A written application for approval must be submitted in good time to ensure that the Schlagermove is a complete success again this year.
A cooperation partner is also causing quite a stir, because Ed Sheeran will be performing at the Volksparkstadion at the same time and numerous fans will be flocking to the city for that too. With these additional events on the weekend, the atmosphere in the Hanseatic city should be particularly great and a very special festival feeling will arise.
The anticipation of the big festival is palpable and delights many Hamburg residents and visitors alike. The motto “Schlager, good mood and community” will also be celebrated in the heart of Hamburg in 2025 – you shouldn’t miss it!
