Last weekend it was hot in Neetzow when the fire brigades of the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald competed against each other in the district competition. The tension was literally tangible when the teams from different locations started to demonstrate their skills in the fire -fighting attack. The men's team from Medow secured the district championship title with an impressive time of 25.29 seconds. The women's team from Murchin also prevailed with a time of 28.39 seconds and also became a district champion of the women. Nordkurier Competition took part and the conditions in Neetzow Liepen ensured a smooth process, which was particularly emphasized by Mayor Matthias Falk. Falk also announced that the municipality would also like to align the district elimination in 2026.

But how did the other teams cut off? Neetzow Liepen followed the Medowers in second place with a time of 25.67 seconds. Klein Bünzow secured third place with 26.95 seconds. For women, the teams from Postlow and Medow ended the competition in second and third place with times of 32.67 seconds or 34.96 seconds. The results testify to the strong competition that was shown in the competitions. The best men's team from Liepgarten reached ninth place with 31.96 seconds. Association leader Stefan Fellechner not only thanked the participating teams, but also praised the fair competitions. He mentioned that the regulations of the competition will be revised in the coming season to avoid discussions. Video proofs were similar to the discussion, as in football, which were excluded, however, so that the judges are still the decisive instance. The German Fire Brigade Association will deal with the adjustments to the competition regulations in the future.
