Bundeswehr celebrates Bundeswehr Day: flight show and corvettes up close!
Stralsund, Deutschland - in Stralsund everything will be about the Bundeswehr next weekend. For the “Bundeswehr Day”, the army invites you to open its doors and to communicate transparently with the population. The event starts on Saturday at 10 a.m. and offers a colorful mix of information, actions and impressive demonstrations.
A highlight of the event will be the flight show, which indicates both the skill of the naval wasters and the impressive skills of the Airbus A400M. In the air there will be several floors, including three A400m at 10.30 a.m. and various flight demonstrations at 10.45 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. In addition, the Korvette Magdeburg and a tender at the "Open Ship" give insights into the Maritime World of the Bundeswehr, which are located in the port of Stralsund
a day full of discoveries
At 3 p.m. the event will achieve its culmination with the swearing -in and the vow of new recruits of the marine technology school in Parow. Among the guests of honor are General Inspecter Carsten Breuer, the interior minister of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania Christian Pegel and Stralsund's Mayor Dr. Alexander Badrow. These personalities underline the meaning of the event.
Important for visitors is that parking spaces are not available on the event area. It is recommended to use the P&R parking spaces on Werftstraße, and a boat shuttle connects the island of Dänholm with the event site from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Busshuttle and public transport are organized for impairments, whereby it is pointed out here that they are not barrier -free and no animals are allowed. Drivers should also pay attention to the inner -city traffic control system.
Experience the variety of the Air Force
In addition to the activities on the Bundeswehr's day, the upcoming Bundeswehr Discovery Days are also worth mentioning. This event will take place in southern Germany from November 18 to 22, 2024 and is aimed at young people between the ages of 16 and 20. Here participants can experience modern technologies up close, from transport helicopters to Eurofighter fighter aircraft. The Discovery Days are already fully booked, which underlines the great response to such events.Another star of the Air Force, the Airbus A400M, is not only present during the flight show. The multifunctional transport aircraft has proven itself as a real lifesaver in the past ten years. It not only transports military equipment such as the NH90 Transport helicopter or the Schützfanzer Puma, but also humanitarian relief goods and was used in evacuation campaigns in crisis areas such as Kabul and Sudan. The A400M is a real all -rounder that can even act as a flying hospital.
