In Güstrow, a town in the Rostock district, there are currently changes to the fees for street cleaning and winter service. How NDR reports, the city has taken on responsibility for winter service on a large scale, which is now also leading to an increase in fees.
The increases affect the fees for street cleaning and winter service. Depending on the street category, residents will have to expect an increase of 30 cents to one euro per front meter in the future. An example from Domstrasse speaks for itself: Here the fee is now 8.56 euros per front meter. In addition, homeowners and landlords are also experiencing an increase in fees for disposing of dirty and rainwater. Measures approved by the city council in December do not provide for an increase in property taxes; the assessment rates should remain stable.
Recalculation of fees
The Northern Courier clarifies that Güstrow is divided into five different cleaning classes, with different fees for each. The adjustments are made annually and take into account factors such as the type of roads, their frequency and personnel and material costs for summer and winter service. An important change: The fees are increasing for four of the five cleaning classes, with only class 5 experiencing a reduction from 1.48 euros to 1.37 euros per front meter.
