The Little Prince Dances: Magical ballet performance delights young and old!

A touch of magic filled the theater in Neubrandenburg when the German dance company celebrated the premiere of “The Little Prince”. This lovingly staged performance, based on the story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, aims to encourage young viewers' love of reading while also taking their parents into the fantastic world of the little prince. The audience, which consisted mostly of people over 40, was able to enjoy impressive choreography by Torsten Merchant and the harmonious music by Gisbert Näther. Nordkurier reports that the little prince meets a pilot here after his plane makes an emergency landing in the Sahara. Together they experience a journey in which the prince talks about his home planet and the various characters who played a role in his travels, including the fox, the snake and the roses.

The dancers, including Sara Branco as the Little Prince and Daisuke Sogawa and Axel Rothe as the pilot, brought the wonderful story to life with their performances. The characters such as the snake and the fox had a particularly difficult time with the younger audience members, which made the interaction between the play and the audience even more enchanting. Gabriele Näther, the composer's widow, was also present at the premiere and praised the performance, which visibly moved her.

Further performances and dates

Anyone who missed the opportunity can rejoice: the piece will be performed again on November 14th at the Landestheater Neustrelitz at 6 p.m. Further dates are also planned at the Schauspielhaus Neubrandenburg: November 16th at 4 p.m. and December 10th and 11th at 10 a.m. and 9 a.m. respectively. Overall, “The Little Prince” is not only a successful ballet, but also an invitation to rekindle the joy of reading and discovery. The combination of dance, music and the key message of the story makes this piece a particularly valuable experience for all generations - a real family spectacle that should not be missing from any cultural agenda.
