Last week, numerous new citizens saw the light of day in northern Germany. Every birth brings joy and happiness to the parents, and the little miracles are unique in their size and weight. This also applies to the babies who were born in the first week of October. Northern Courier reports on a total of ten newborns who were born in various clinics and we present them to you here.
Little Charlotte Durke was born on September 30th in Neubrandenburg and weighed 3380 grams and was 50 cm tall. Her happy parents are Gina Durke and Luc Stechert. Just one day later, on October 1st, Emilia Poley was born in Anklam at 9:04 p.m. It weighs 3570 grams and measures 53 cm.
The little giants
On October 2nd at 12:54 a.m. Nuri Schmunck was born in Demmin. With a birth weight of 4045 grams and a height of 54 cm, Nuri is a true little giant. Khaalid Hussein Abdirahman, who was born on October 3rd in Neubrandenburg, also has a special story at 2730 grams and 46 cm, as he was greeted by his mother Fartuun Salaad.
We continue with Melina Katja Karin Franke, who was born on October 4th in Neustrelitz and weighs 3990 grams and 53 cm. On October 6th, three babies were born that day: Archie Grundmann weighing 3,890 grams and 51 cm, Lias Karl Gaitzsch, who is also one of the larger newborns at 4,050 grams and 53 cm, and Skadi Nörenberg, who was born at 8:36 a.m. in Anklam and weighs 3,330 grams.
The birth weight

The first days after birth are crucial for the healthy development of a newborn. In the first three to four days of life, newborns lose up to 10% of their weight, which is considered normal.
