A tragic incident shook Neubrandenburg yesterday evening. At around 9:05 p.m. there was a serious traffic accident on Salvador-Allende Street in which a 22-year-old motorcyclist on a KTM was hit by a 25-year-old Mercedes driver. The driver wanted to turn left into the parking lot of a Rewe store, but overlooked the oncoming motorcyclist, which led to an inevitable collision. The motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to the Neubrandenburg Clinic, where he later died from his injuries, as [image] reports.
The condition of both vehicles after the accident was devastating - they were no longer drivable and had to be towed away. The estimated material damage amounts to around 20,000 euros. A Dekra employee will be called in today to clarify the exact circumstances.
Another incident at the Neubrandenburg Clinic
Yesterday was stressful for the streets of Neubrandenburg, and not just because of the fatal accident. Another incident occurred in the afternoon in which a 17-year-old motorcyclist was hit by a car. This younger driver, who was traveling on Salvador-Allende-Straße in the direction of Lindenhof, was hit by a female driver who was coming from the clinic's parking lot and also failed to notice him. The collision took place around 8 p.m. and the 17-year-old had to be taken to the clinic with minor injuries, where he was hospitalized overnight, as [Nordkurier] reports.
Investigations are now underway against the driver for this situation, while the property damage also amounts to several thousand euros. The young driver's light motorcycle was removed by a towing company.
