The police have started an investigation and are confronted with several offenses: hit and run, insults, damage to property and a violation of road traffic regulations.

While the investigators were busy with the incident at Fohlenwinkel, another accident occurred on the L35 near Podewall around 9:20 a.m. Here a 36-year-old Skoda driver was blinded by the low sun, causing him to collide with the wing mirror of a 62-year-old cyclist. The cyclist was not spared in this incident and suffered minor injuries, but he was still taken to hospital. The damage caused by the Skoda driver amounts to around 4,000 euros and he also had to have it towed. The police have also launched an investigation into negligent bodily harm and a violation of road traffic regulations.
