On Tuesday morning there was a traffic accident on federal highway 191 between Parchim and Lübz, which fortunately ended with minor injuries for those involved. Loud Northern Courier The 83-year-old who caused the accident came from a dirt road around 11 a.m. when he tried to turn left onto the federal road in the direction of Lübz. He overlooked a vehicle that was approaching from the left. He didn't have much time to react: the two cars collided and then crashed into the road barrier.
However, the consequences were relatively mild. Both drivers suffered injuries, but they were not serious. The driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital for further treatment, while the 83-year-old, who was sober, was visibly concerned about his driving license.
Terrible tragedy on the B 191
The tragedy was great because the 67-year-old passenger died at the scene of the accident, while the driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries and was unresponsive. Fortunately, the two occupants in the mobile home were uninjured. But here too, the accident led to significant traffic disruptions: the B 191 was closed in both directions until late in the evening at 6:15 p.m.
These incidents are a stark reminder of the dangers that can lurk on our roads and the importance of remaining cautious and alert at all times. Despite the terrible circumstances in Eschede, the accident in Parchim shows that sometimes you can get away with a black eye.
