Karl's strawberry kebab takes second place at the World Park Award!
A culinary highlight recently captured the hearts of theme park lovers. The strawberry kebab, an innovative creation from Karls Erlebnishof in Elstal near Berlin, secured second place at the renowned World of Parks Award. This award recognizes outstanding attractions in European theme parks and shows how diverse the offering is today. The owner, Robert Dahl, has not only created a real crowd puller with this unique product, but has also brought a breath of fresh air to the industry.
Since the presentation of the strawberry kebab in April, there has been a lot of new things to discover at the Erlebnishof in Elstal. The new attractions include an impressive ride in the shape of a twelve-meter-high kebab skewer and a playground that has a loving vegetable garden look. These expansions show that the theme park not only values the culinary experience, but also exciting activities for the whole family.
A far-reaching undertaking
Robert Dahl, known as the “Strawberry King”, now operates twelve locations from the Baltic Sea to Saxony. His company generates annual sales of around 200 million euros, which impressively underlines how successful the Karls Erlebnishof concept is. In addition to the park in Elstal, its roots can be found in the original park in Rövershagen near Rostock. And the expansion continues: planned new parks in the Ruhr area and Bavaria are intended to expand the offering even further.
The competition for the World of Parks Award was extremely exciting. Visitors had until August 20th to vote for their favorites. The Strawberry Doner only had to admit defeat to the popular Smurf ride in Plopsaland, Belgium, but was able to beat the new giant swing “Great Eagle's Free Flight” in Fort Fun Adventureland - proof that the innovative concept of the Strawberry Doner is delighting the masses.
The world of theme parks
But what exactly makes amusement parks so fascinating? Essentially, theme parks are permanent amusement centers that offer a variety of attractions. They range from rides to show stalls to playgrounds and therefore offer a wide range of leisure options. Unlike temporary folk festivals, amusement parks are designed for long-term operation and manage to delight visitors again and again through continuous innovations and creative attractions, such as the strawberry kebab. The different types of parks, such as theme or adventure parks, ensure that there is something for every taste.
The great success of the strawberry kebab impressively shows that a combination of culinary experiences and exciting attractions can be the key to a successful theme park. With this concept, Karls Erlebnishof is well on its way to remaining highly popular and winning the hearts of visitors.
