Carnival opening and kite festival: Western Pomerania celebrates in November!
The beautiful time of Carnival is just around the corner! From November 11th the celebrations will really start in Western Pomerania and preparations are in full swing. Real highlights await residents and visitors in cities such as Tutow, Anklam, Penkun, Spantekow, Ducherow and Luckow. The carnival is traditionally ushered in with colorful events and a cheerful atmosphere, which is of course a highlight for all the Jecken.
But before the crazy time begins, the air sports club “Die Ueckerfalken” invites you to an exciting hang gliding event on November 8th. From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., kite fans big and small can experience the art of kite flying at the model airfield between Pasewalk and Papendorf. The program is a real feast for the senses: a 3D kite flying show, kite flying, craft opportunities and a painting street ensure that there is no chance of boredom. Face painting is also offered for the younger guests, and catering is of course also provided.
Cultural highlights
On November 9th at 4 p.m. the operetta revue by the Primavera Ensemble from Berlin will be performed in the “Historisches U” cultural forum in Pasewalk. The musical direction is in the hands of the talented pianist Daniela Müller. If you don't want to miss the event, you can purchase tickets at the Pasewalk city information center or at the box office. A wonderful offer for all culture enthusiasts!
However, there is a small restriction for movie lovers: the Anklamer cinema will be closed from November 10th to 14th due to renovation work. There will be no evening performances on November 9th, but there will be a special occasion in the afternoon: Anyone who would like to get hold of old cinema seats has the opportunity to secure them on November 9th around 4 p.m. A perfect piece of nostalgia for any film fan!
Culture of remembrance
Remembrance Day on November 16th will be celebrated in Anklam with a commemorative event at the end of the year of remembrance for the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. A new memorial tour with information boards and signposts will be opened to keep the memory of the events alive and to pay respect to the victims.
There is so much to celebrate and commemorate in the region. No matter whether you want to have fun flying a kite or enjoy an operetta performance - there is something for everyone in Western Pomerania. The carnival and the cultural events bring a breath of fresh air into the autumn and invite you to spend wonderful hours together. You can look forward to a great time!
