Citizens' consultation hour in Reutershagen: Your vote counts! Registration by September 19th

In the Hanseatic city of Rostock, things go haywire when it comes to citizen participation! On Wednesday, September 24th, 2025, the Rostocker Freizeitzentrum e.V. at Kuphalstrasse 77 invites you to an important public consultation. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Reutershagen residents have the opportunity to discuss their concerns and issues directly with city representatives. The reason is clear: it's about listening to the needs of the district and responding to them.

However, participation is limited to a limited number of people. Therefore, prior registration is essential. To secure a place, those interested can either come to the leisure center on Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and on Wednesdays and Fridays until 4 p.m. Alternatively, you can also register by email buergeranlegen@rostock.de possible. But be careful: the registration deadline is Friday, September 19, 2025!

Group meetings and citizen interests

The Rostock Green Party offers another exciting format. On Monday, January 27, 2024, a citizens' consultation and a parliamentary group meeting will take place in the same venue. While the consultation hour starts at 5 p.m., the public group meeting follows at 6 p.m. On this evening, everyone who is interested in local politics is warmly invited to contribute their ideas and concerns.

Both neighborhood initiatives and interested citizens should be given the opportunity to put forward their concerns. The group members and local advisory board members are there to have a direct conversation and answer questions. To participate, you must also register, either via email gruene.fraktion@rostock.de or by phone at 0381-381/1166.

Citizen participation on the rise

These events are part of the broader citizen participation initiative in Rostock. Under the leadership of Mayor Eva-Maria Kröger, a guide to promoting participation will be published. The aim is to actively involve citizens in decision-making processes. An advisory board for citizen participation and a coordination office are available to support the concerns of Rostock residents and ensure transparency.

The citizen participation process is clearly structured: First, citizens can submit suggestions, which are then examined by the coordination office and the advisory board. If participation is deemed useful, the approval of the department follows, and finally citizen participation is designed and implemented. The results are incorporated into the municipal decision-making processes and are presented in a transparent and comprehensible manner. Questions about participation or city projects can also be directed directly to the coordination office.

This means that everything is running smoothly in Rostock when it comes to hearing the voices of the population and actively involving them in city politics. Take advantage of the opportunity and voice your concerns - so that Rostock becomes a little more what its citizens want!
