Rostock District Council: Goodbye voting cards – vote digitally now!
In the Rostock district, a digital change is being heralded in the district council: From now on, voting cards are no longer required. Instead, voting will be recorded electronically in the future. This was decided by a large majority in the district council on Wednesday evening. Loud NDR The administration expects this innovation to provide more transparency and more efficient processes.
The new system, which was examined at the request of the AfD and then approved by the administration, is intended to speed up both roll-call and secret votes. This eliminates the need for time-consuming recounts, especially when the results are close. A portable system will be purchased for a total of 20,000 euros that can be used at both district council locations, Bad Doberan and Güstrow.
