Fabian murder case: Suspect remains in custody – investigations intensified!

In the case of eight-year-old Fabian from Güstrow, who tragically died in an accident, the suspected woman remains in custody. The Rostock public prosecutor's office has confirmed the strong suspicion of murder. The alleged act is said to have been committed on October 10, 2025, the day on which Fabian was last seen alive. The woman was already in the investigators' sights during the intensive search for the missing person. According to media reports, she is said to have contradicted herself during initial interviews, which further complicates matters.

Several possible pieces of evidence were found near Fabian's body, including a charred glove, which is now being examined forensically. Prosecutors plan to file charges within the next two to three months. The investigation continues at full speed and the police are asking the public for information from five walkers who are said to have been near the site at the time in question. This all contributes to the consternation of the region and the population, who are wondering what exactly is behind this infamous incident.

Court presentation and investigation

The suspected woman was arrested on November 7, 2025 and brought before a judge the following day. On this occasion she remained silent about the allegations. Rostock senior public prosecutor Harald Nowack confirmed that an arrest warrant was in place when the woman was arrested and made it clear that there were no reports that she was Fabian's father's ex-girlfriend. Nowack also emphasized the presumption of innocence and the importance of protecting the identity of suspects.

The investigation is far from over. Around 120 emergency services recently searched properties in Reimershagen and Rum Kogel. During the searches, not only three vehicles were seized, but also a pair of sneakers and other items, which are now being examined forensically. The local mayors, Jens Kupfer from Reimershagen and Sascha Zimmermann from Güstrow, expressed their dismay at the case and called for the background to be clarified quickly in order to give the family and the entire region clarity.

The case is attracting immense attention and raising many questions. The authorities are pursuing the intensive investigations with the highest priority. The population can only hope that light will soon come into the darkness and the background to this terrible act can be clarified.
