Start of the season 2025/26: 131 junior teams kick in Western Pomerania!

Wolgast, Deutschland - The football season 2025/26 in the Football Association of Vorpommern-Greifswald is on! It finally starts on the second weekend in September after the summer break is over. This year, impressive 131 young teams are active in the game, distributed over six age groups. This raises the anticipation for exciting games and the further development of young talents.

The field of participants in the e-youth is particularly impressive with a whopping 39 teams who compete in five seasons. But it is not only kicking: the F-Juniors are there with 32 teams in four seasons, while the D-Juniors put 21 teams. There are 17 teams in the area of the C-Juniors, with nine playing on the large field and eight in the Norwegian model. For the B-youth and the G-youth, 11 teams each found themselves that will fight for points. Particular attention is paid to the A-youth, which unfortunately has no game this season-a fact that could certainly provide some discussions in the region.

relay classification at a glance

How promising the new season could be is also shown in the relay division. For example, the B-juniors compete in the district league with 11 teams, including SG Gützkow/Landhagen and Fortuna Neuenkirchen. The D-youth also shows itself in good shape: there are three different seasons here, a total of 19 teams are active.

insights into the forms of play

What exactly does the young kickers expect on the pitch? The G-youth (U 6/U 7) will play in a very special form. Here is usually played in the two-against-two or three-against-three, without a goalkeeper and on small playing fields. Each gate is an occasion to change: after each goal, the teams are allowed to exchange a player. This method should make the games more balanced and more exciting. The F-youth (U 8/U 9) also plays either in the three-against-three or five-five, which gives little footballers the opportunity to develop and show their skills.

in the e-youth (U 10/U 11) it gets a little bigger. Here the teams play in five against five or seven opposite seven and learn the team dynamics. Well coordinated playing fields and the right number of players ensure that everyone has a fair chance.

The coming season promises more than just exciting games - it also brings the chance to see young talents. There is something and we are excited to see what surprises the teams have!
