Eintracht Braunschweig conquers the Christmas market: the heart of our city!
There is great anticipation for Advent in Braunschweig! The Christmas market in the Lion City will open its doors on November 26, 2025 and promises to be a festive attraction for young and old. As one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany, it is not only a highlight for the citizens, but also attracts numerous visitors from outside. This year, Eintracht fans have something to look forward to, because for the first time the Eintracht Braunschweig football club will have its own stand.
Under the motto “Heart of our city”, the association focuses on a closer connection to the people of Braunschweig and the surrounding area. “We want to offer our fans a place where they can feel comfortable and have shared experiences,” explains Wolfram Benz, the commercial director of Eintracht Braunschweig, and at the same time thanks them for the cooperation with the city marketing department. At the stand, which is located in the central area of the Christmas market, not only will fan merchandise be offered for sale, but numerous encounters with current and former team players are also planned.
Diverse Christmas program
The Christmas market runs from November 26th to December 29th, 2025 and is open daily from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and on Sundays and public holidays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. However, the market will remain closed on December 24th and 25th. In the midst of the historical backdrop around St. Blasii Cathedral, visitors can expect more than 140 decorated stands that offer artfully crafted gift ideas, regional delicacies and drinks such as the classic Braunschweiger Mumme mulled wine.
Special events for Eintracht fans
On December 15, 2025, Eintracht Braunschweig will also celebrate its 130th anniversary, an occasion that is of course associated with many celebrations. Another highlight will be the joint Christmas singing in Braunschweig Cathedral on December 17, 2025. The gates will be open from 5:30 p.m. so that the first festive melodies can be heard at 6 p.m. Mayor Dr. Thorsten Kornblum and Eintracht President Nicole Kumpis will give speeches, while a children's choir from the Domsingschule will provide the musical accompaniment. For everyone who can't be there in person, there will be a live broadcast on Eintracht's YouTube channel.
Eintracht fans have the opportunity to wear scarves in the cathedral, but flags are not permitted. There is space for everyone with around 750 seats and 150 standing places, and wheelchair users are also accommodated with around 10 reserved seats. The anticipation is evident, and not only the supporters but also the entire city are looking forward to the Christmas market and its festive events with great expectations.
The overall offering in Braunschweig during Advent also includes festive concerts, plays for children and leisurely ice skating on the Kohlmarkt. If you want to explore the city, you can treat yourself to the view from the town hall tower or pay a visit to the Herzog Anton Ulrich Museum. The Braunschweig nativity scene will provide further moments of family time with life-size sculptures and a free children's program.
Advent in Braunschweig is not only a time for giving, but also for community and togetherness. The Christmas market with all its facets will become an indispensable part of this festive season and invites everyone to experience the Christmas spirit in its full glory.
