There is news at the municipal children's and youth campsite in Lenste on the Baltic Sea that not only makes children's eyes light up. On June 15, 2025, the new “Lenster Vogelnestbaum” playground was ceremoniously opened, a highlight for the young visitors’ leisure activities. Children and young people had the opportunity to contribute their ideas for the new space during the summer holidays. A total of around 70 creative suggestions came together, which were incorporated into the implementation. The “Lenster Vogelnestbaum” is an impressive rope climbing frame, around six meters high, which is equipped with colorful nest swings. Here the little adventurers can let their imagination run wild.

Funding and support

To realize the project, costs amounting to around 40,000 euros were raised, which were financed by the Braunschweig youth development agency and various sponsors, including the Braunschweigische Landessparkasse and the Sparkassenstiftung. The Lenste children's and youth campsite is open from April to September and offers space for school classes, clubs and youth associations.
