B 75: Construction site is delayed - full closure and new traffic routing!

On the federal highway 75 (B 75) between Delmenhorst/Stickgras and the Bremen state border it takes longer than initially planned. Again Weser courier Reportedly, the construction work has not yet been completed. According to the Lower Saxony State Office for Road Construction and Transport (NLSTBV), guardrails are currently being installed in the direction of Oldenburg. The remaining work includes shoulder and paving work on the bridges as well as important control tests, including flatness measurements and asphalt testing in the laboratory.

The weather plays a decisive role: the road marking is planned for June 25th and 26th - provided the conditions allow it. After the marking, the traffic routing is reduced from 2+0 to 1+1.

Full closure is imminent

A full closure of the B 75 is scheduled for the night of June 30th to July 1st so that traffic can be dismantled. The NLSTBV explains that this is extra work and not a delay. The federal highway is scheduled to open in the week of July 7th to 12th, but an exact date will be announced once work on the median begins.

New roundabout in Tostedt

At the same time, construction work is underway in Tostedt for a roundabout on the B 75, like this Lower Saxony road construction administration reported. These measures aim to improve traffic flow and increase safety for all road users. The work began on June 4, 2025 and is expected to last about a year.

Construction will take place in eight phases, with the first phase already well underway. A particularly tricky detail is the merging of two non-opposite streets in a roundabout. During the work, the B 75 will be completely closed for around two months, but special access for the German Red Cross (DRK) and the fire brigade will be guaranteed.

Investments in transport infrastructure

The importance of a reliable transport infrastructure is up for discussion not only in Tostedt but also at the national level. The Transport Investment Report 2022 highlights how crucial a well-developed transport network is for personal freedom and social participation. Germany's infrastructure is one of the best in the world and offers an important basis for economic growth.

The Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transport is continuously working to reduce bottlenecks through new construction and expansion projects and to ensure the quality of the rail, road and waterway networks. This continuous expansion of this infrastructure is a central task in order to maintain the high standard in the future.

Residents and road users should be patient in the coming weeks and months while these necessary construction projects are implemented. Because in the end it will be beneficial for everyone if the roads are safer and easier to drive on.
