What a celebration! On Saturday, August 9, 2025, the final event of Summer Culture 2025 took place on the town hall square in Delmenhorst city center. The event, which was organized for the fifth time this year, not only brought the citizens of Delmenhorst together, but also attracted numerous tourists. The Jazzkantine, an experienced group from Braunschweig, created a great atmosphere. In business for over 30 years, the band inspires with a mix of jazz, hip hop, soul, funk and disco. After getting the crowd pumped up, DJ Bob Mitchell took over and played some familiar beats, making the festival a night to remember until late in the evening.
This year's summer culture took place from August 5th to 9th and was organized by DELKultur e.V. Supported by the city of Delmenhorst and other partners and sponsors, this year the event had a varied program. Each event was tailored to the audience's preferences, so there was something for every taste. From Local Day on Tuesday, which opened the celebrations with free admission, to the concluding jazz rhythm on the last day of the event, there were a variety of musical highlights.
Diverse program design
Overall, the visitors enjoyed a colorful program. Indie Day was on the agenda on Wednesday, with bands like Lack of Limits and Feuerholzverleih taking to the stage. Thursday was dedicated to tribute bands, with a confirmed performance by Floyd Unlimited, while on Friday, rock-heavy sounds thrilled the crowds with Dierauscher. The caterer Ralf Schmertmann and his team took care of the physical well-being under the motto “Street food of the world” and offered a wide variety of dishes.
The organizational team, led by Detlef Blanke and his team, demonstrated good skills and carried out the events smoothly despite the challenges. However, it remains to be mentioned that Detlef Blanke will not be performing with an all-star band in 2025.

While Delmenhorst boasted summer culture, Germany remains a vibrant center for music festivals in 2025. In addition to summer culture, which in its small but important way strengthens the local cultural scene, there are numerous top-class festivals taking place across the country. Events like the SonneMond Sternen Festival await numerous visitors on the same weekend who want to celebrate the sound of electronic music. This wealth of events shows how dynamic the festival scene is across Germany and makes it clear that lovers of a wide variety of music genres get their money's worth.
The 2025 summer culture has thus established itself as a complete success and shows that Delmenhorst not only cultivates cultural diversity, but also a strong sense of community. There is certainly great anticipation for the next editions!
