Renovation in the Eiswiese swimming paradise: new changing rooms and brine pools!

Today, bathers in the Göttingen bathing paradise Eiswiese are receiving a very special update. The operator, Göttinger Sport und Freizeit GmbH (GöSF), has played a key role in driving forward the extensive renovation and modernization of the popular leisure pool. Almost 25 years after the last major renovation, the pool is being upgraded with new changing rooms, a converted brine pool and many other attractions. But as it is in life: not everything goes according to plan, and some innovations are still a long time coming.

Completion of the renovation work was originally scheduled for September 15, 2025. However, due to a lack of staff at the executing companies and delivery difficulties with building materials, the full reopening was postponed to September 1, 2025. The pool is currently open, but guests have to adapt to temporary restrictions. From the new date, the regular changing area will be fully usable again, while the barrier-free changing area and the new outdoor brine pool are expected to be completed by September 15th.

Important innovations in the bathing paradise

One of the most exciting changes is the completely renovated changing area with 137 new cubicles, which has a modern design with a dark wood look and orange lockers. Particularly pleasing: the new changing rooms and showers are barrier-free and are located closer to the entrance, making access easier for all guests. In the future, a modern cash register system for payments will also be introduced, which has already been established in the sauna area.

The heart of the renovation is the converted brine pool, which now functions as a course pool with chlorinated water. The water temperature will be reduced from a comfortable 34 to 30 degrees to meet the needs of the new aqua aerobics and swimming courses for children. At the same time, the brine is transferred to the outdoor pool to avoid damage to the building caused by the salt. With a temperature of 32 degrees, the outdoor pool invites you to relax, while new underwater spotlights and speakers with whale songs will create a calming atmosphere.

A look at the gastronomy

After 25 years, the bistro has also received a new kitchen - a step that will certainly increase the culinary diversity in the bathing paradise. So if you want to satisfy your hunger while swimming and relaxing, this is the place for you.

The extensive renovation work is part of a larger plan to ensure the attractiveness of the bathing paradise in the long term. Göttinger Sport und Freizeit GmbH asks for your understanding for the inconvenience caused by the construction work and hopes that guests will quickly appreciate the new attractions.

In Germany, fun and adventure pools such as the Göttingen Badeparadies are a popular retreat, especially in bad weather. Facilities such as the Tropical Islands or the Therme Erding are always very popular and show how important these leisure activities are for the regional tourism industry. The Eiswiese swimming paradise in Göttingen falls into this category and will certainly attract many visitors with the upcoming innovations.
