The Goslar city administration has adjusted the opening times over the turn of the year to enable citizens to plan better. Like the city itself on its website reported, the authority will be closed early on several days.
On Tuesday, December 23rd, Monday, December 29th and Tuesday, December 30th, the city administration will close at 1 p.m. In addition, the entire administration will be unavailable all day on Friday, January 2nd. The telephone exchanges are also not staffed on these days, which makes it difficult to get in touch. But don't worry: From Monday, January 5th, the offices will be open to citizens again during their usual opening hours.
Cultural institutions and library
The city has good news for those interested in culture! The Imperial Palace and the Goslar Museum will remain open as normal during the Christmas holidays, with the exception of Christmas Eve and New Year's Day. However, the city library and archive will be closed from December 23rd, 1 p.m., until January 5th, 2026. Anyone who would like to borrow or return media during this time should note that the loan periods have been extended until January 8th. The online loan, however, is available without interruption, so that digital media can be accessed at any time.
Particularly pleasing: The city library will reopen its doors unscheduled on January 10th. Special holiday regulations apply to municipal daycare centers and schools, which should also be taken into account. The Goslar depot remains unaffected by these closures and can still be reached.
