Hameln Classics: Thrill of S-jumping and 100 years of riding club!

In the picturesque setting on the Töpfenbönweg in Hameln, the Hameln Equestrian Club celebrated a completely successful 100th anniversary with the “Hameln Classics”. This event took place over three days from August 22nd to 24th, 2025 and the excitement was palpable in the air. With over 370 horses taking part in a total of 13 jumping competitions, the tournament was a true festival for horse lovers and sports enthusiasts. The focus was on the competitions for the regional championship and a highly endowed S-jumping competition with 2000 euros in prize money, which was particularly exciting.

The S-jumping, which was only decided in the jump-off, was particularly captivating. Christian Glienwinkel from RFV-Isernhagen was able to prevail with his horse “Like Angel’s Pleasure” and was brilliantly 1.6 seconds faster than Sabine Flörkemeier from RV Valdorf, who made no mistakes and took second place. Niclas Baule, the jumping coach at RV Hameln, had to make do with four errors and took third place. An annoying moment for him, because the stabbing would have been possible for him too.

Regional championships and great atmosphere

Another highlight of the event was the regional championships, where the best riders were determined in classes A, L and M. For the three district associations of Hildesheim, Hameln and Holzminden, it was the second edition of these championships, which have been strengthening the equestrian sports region for three years. Oliver Tüpker, the region's chairman, praised the tournament as a "super tournament" that shone not only because of its organization, but also because of the great atmosphere.

The preparations for the event were impressive and required so-called “good hands”: around 180 tons of sand from Aurich were needed to perfectly design the 60 x 70 meter tournament field. The number of riders from different classes was high, the competition was strong and the atmosphere was festive - all together a recipe for an all-round successful sporting event.

And what's next?

Next week, our eyes will be on the regional dressage championships, which are also in the tournament program, including another S* test. There is great anticipation for further exciting competitions and the riders are ready for new challenges. Of course, the results and starter lists will be made available online so that the fans and families of the participants are always kept informed.

The Hameln Classics events were not only a highlight in the equestrian sports calendar, but also a celebration for everyone involved. Whether as a spectator or active participant, community was lived and celebrated here, and it remains to be hoped that these successful traditions will continue to endure.
