Max Kruse moves to RTL: From district league star to TV expert!

There's always a lot going on in football, and that's especially true for Max Kruse. The former professional footballer has just gone through some exciting changes. He is currently moving to RTL as an expert and will take part in broadcasts of the 2nd league and in the matchday show “Matchday Europa League”. Kruse appears motivated and promises to take a clear stand. In doing so, he will give his experiences and views on the games a voice, after having already had a media presence in the past in formats such as “Celebrity Big Brother” and “Schlag den Star”, reports New press.

But that's not all that's been keeping Max Kruse busy lately. After terminating his contract with second division club SC Paderborn at the end of 2023, Kruse decided to play in the Berlin district league. He joined the club BSV Al-Dersimspor II from Berlin-Kreuzberg. Here he would like to take things a little easier and has decided to “play a bit of district league football”. The first appearance with his new team is planned for April 28, 2024, where they will face the third team Spandauer Kickers RBB24 reported.

Was he able to shine in amateur football?

Despite his success as a professional, Kruse's path to amateur football is not entirely untroubled. He has fitness deficits that he now wants to reduce. Al-Dersimspor coach Güven Akpolat confirms that Kruse will wear the captain's armband, but he is not guaranteed any appearances. Kruse has changed a lot since his time at 1. FC Union Berlin, where he scored 19 goals in 45 competitive games. His impressive career spans many well-known clubs in Germany as well as a stint abroad with Fenerbahce Istanbul in Turkey.

Another player who is active in amateur football is Marcel Halstenberg. He now plays for SV Germania Grasdorf and has just as little interest in a TV career as Kruse because he wants to be left alone in his hometown club. Halstenberg is also aiming for promotion to the district league, reports the New press.

A new role for the ex-professional

How Max Kruse and Marcel Halstenberg's paths in amateur football will develop remains exciting. Kruse shows that there are also interesting perspectives outside of professional sports. In the district league he can now experience the fun of the game again and at the same time bring in his experience from professional football. The spectators can be curious to see what this new phase of life will look like for the former national player, while at the same time Halstenberg is preparing to advance his hometown club in the league.

The developments surrounding Kruse and Halstenberg show that football never stands still. Whether on television as a pundit or on the pitch with amateur teams, both players prove that passion and commitment are always very important in sport.
