Hannover 96 U23s have no chance: 0-4 debacle at Drochtersen/Assel!
The football game between Drochtersen/Assel and Hannover 96's U23 ended on October 5, 2025 with a clear defeat for the guests. The U23s had to admit defeat 0-4 and are therefore facing a difficult situation in the Regionalliga Nord. The game, which took place on matchday 11, clearly showed that Drochtersen/Assel had the upper hand that day.
The goals that secured victory for the home team came in a decisive rhythm. Hyseni gave Drochtersen/Assel the lead in the 30th minute with a header from a corner. Just six minutes later, Wulff made it 2-0 with a header from a free kick. Shortly before half-time, Cebulla put Hannover 96's U23s under pressure again with another header from a cross and made the half-time score 3-0. Wulff finally scored the final point in the 60th minute with his second goal of the game.
Current table situation
With these three points, Drochtersen/Assel climbed to 9th place in the Regionalliga Nord. The team was able to collect a total of 15 points in ten games, but the gap to the league leaders from Oldenburg is a whopping 15 points. Even if their performances fluctuate, Drochtersen/Assel makes a solid impression and remains in the fight for a safe place.
