Traffic chaos during the shooting parade: Avoid Hildesheim on June 29th!

There are signs of celebration in Hildesheim: the traditional shooting parade will take place on Sunday, June 29, 2025. The parade starts at 1 p.m., but drivers should prepare for traffic delays in the city center from 12 p.m. and avoid the parade route as far as possible Hildesheim press reported.

Particularly during the move, entry and exit into the Neustadt and certain parts of the city center will be prohibited. Parking on the parade route is also prohibited; Vehicles that are parked in a no-parking zone must expect a tow truck to be charged. Instead, it is recommended to use public transport. The route that the parade will take can also be seen: via the market square, Rathausstrasse, Zingel and many other streets to the festival site at Pferdeanger.

All-rounder in the shooting parade

The demanding organizational details of the parade were determined in close cooperation with the Hildesheimer Volksfest e.V. association. The Regulations for the rifle parade must also be taken into account. Participants are asked to line up between 11:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to ensure a punctual start at the specified time. The various marching columns are each supervised by two members of the THW who are in constant contact with the train management.

A big thank you goes to everyone involved, whose smooth cooperation forms an important basis for the success of the move. Safety is also taken into account: floats must have a circumferential railing of at least 90 cm high, and there is a minimum age of 18 for people who can accompany these vehicles.

Current developments in Hildesheim

In the meantime, however, other news is also making waves. The Nordstemmen fire department responded to a hedge fire on Astrid-Lindgren-Straße today, June 24th, while unknown perpetrators caused considerable damage to property on the FC Concordia premises. In addition, a 19-year-old man is in custody for burglary in Diekholzen; his stolen goods were discovered in a van on the A2 Tonkuhle reported.

This coming weekend there will be a lot on offer for both Hildesheim residents and visitors. Enjoy the parade, but remember to prepare for traffic conditions in good time so that the celebrations don't turn into stress!
