600,000 euros for Lüneburg: New bridges and urgently needed projects!

The Lüneburg district is setting a good example and is investing a total of 600,000 euros from the municipal structural development fund in the municipal infrastructure. In doing so, he would like to support communities that are structurally and financially weaker and noticeably improve their quality of life. As the State newspaper reported, projects can be funded with up to 150,000 euros.

The Committee for Economic Affairs and Tourism has already decided on six important grants. The goal: to enable investments in relevant infrastructure, public facilities and public services. The focus is on measures that go beyond the municipalities' regular obligations, such as renovations, new buildings and other structurally important projects.

Funding projects at a glance

The funded projects include:

Special features of the structural development fund

What is special is that projects and measures are not supported by the municipal structural development fund if they are regular (mandatory) tasks of the municipalities. However, there are exceptions to commercial developments and bridge structures, such as Website of the Lüneburg district described in detail. A central concern is to use funding to improve the financial situation of communities that are below the average for communities in Lower Saxony.

In addition, buildings and facilities such as primary schools, kindergartens or fire stations can also be taken into account. These are important pillars in the community that serve the community and increase the quality of life of the citizens.

Commitment to climate protection

In addition, there are numerous funding programs active in Lower Saxony that aim to promote energy-efficient buildings. Programs such as federal funding for efficient buildings (BEG) are aimed not only at municipalities, but also at companies and private homeowners to support the renovation of residential and non-residential buildings. These include measures such as insulating buildings or installing innovative heating technology, as on the website of Climate protection Lower Saxony is explained.

With these measures, the Lüneburg district proves how important investing in infrastructure and the environment is. The funding is intended to help communities not only make ends meet, but also thrive in the long term. Ultimately, it's about offering citizens a home worth living in.
