Colorful festival in Bendestorf: Latin Fever unites cultures through music!
Music is a universal language that connects people from different cultures. An outstanding example of this is the upcoming event “Bunte Miteinander”, which has the motto “Latin Fever meets Bendestorf”. On Sunday, August 10, 2025, a festival of cultural exchange will be celebrated in front of the Makens Huus in Bendestorf from 3 p.m. LueneburgAktuell reports that this is a great offer for all music lovers.
The afternoon is rounded off with an international finger food buffet, refreshing soft drinks and rousing sounds from Latin and South America as well as Spain. The musical entertainment will be provided by the talented musicians of “Latin Fever”, including the Chilean percussionist Nancho Campos, the Cuban guitarist and singer Euclides Milán and the Paraguayan guitarist and singer Anibal Portillo. The variety of music styles ranges from salsa, tango and rumba to cha cha and bolero.
A celebration for everyone
The aim of this festive gathering is clear: to bring people from different cultural backgrounds together and to ensure that we get along well together. The event is organized by several institutions, including the Jesteburg community, represented by the refugee coordinator Ms. Backhaus and the community mayor Ms. von Ascheraden, and the community of Bendestorf, represented by mayor Mr. Beiersdorf. The Entrée music foundation is also on board with Jean-Jacques Kravetz and Giko Krömker. In a special act of solidarity, the music foundation is donating 300 euros to support the musical performances.
Another interesting point is that visitors are encouraged to bring finger foods from their home countries. Those seeking protection can also submit receipts for their ingredients and have these costs reimbursed. This makes the event not only a culinary highlight, but also a sign of help and community.
A look at the music landscape
The importance of such events is also supported by research on the cultural landscape. According to a nationwide study examining the role of music festivals, they are not only central elements of culture in Germany, but also important driving forces for the economy. Bundesstiftung LiveKultur emphasizes that music festivals promote social exchange and cultural diversity. These trade fairs help to find identity and offer newcomers a platform to present their talents.
The study, which was launched in 2024, aims to measure the economic, cultural, ecological and social relevance of over 1,800 music festivals in Germany and will publish the results in summer 2025. This scientific study brings important insights for the future design of the music landscape in Germany.
The “Colorful Together” event on August 10th will not only be a celebration of music, but also a living example of how music can build bridges between cultures. If you have the opportunity, you should definitely save this date!
