New speed cameras in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district: safety comes first!
On September 2nd, 2025 there will be exciting news for all road users in the region: a new stationary speed measuring system will be installed on the K1 in Zadrau. How Lüneburg Current reports, this new system measures the speed of vehicles in both directions. The existing systems in Prisser (B248) and Kreyenhagen (B71) will also resume operations in time for September 2025. The Lüchow-Dannenberg district will therefore further strengthen its measures to increase road safety.
The regular speed checks in the district have proven successful: there are currently 17 stationary and three mobile measuring systems available. These devices are programmed to trigger if the speed exceeds 6 km/h in urban areas and from 10 km/h outside of urban areas. A tolerance deduction is also made from the measurement results to account for inaccurate measurements.
Measurements and tolerances
Loud Catalog of fines In Germany, speed measurements are a central part of traffic monitoring in order to identify speeding and to increase traffic safety. The police use various speed measurement methods, which can be both mobile and stationary. Technologies such as radar and laser are used, with radar detecting speed via reflected electromagnetic signals and sending laser light pulses that do not require flash.
Apart from speeding, distance and other traffic rules are also checked. Fines for violations vary greatly depending on the severity of the violation. In urban areas, for example, drivers can expect to pay 30 euros if they exceed the speed limit by up to 10 km/h, while if they exceed the speed limit by 21 to 25 km/h they will be charged 115 euros and face a driving ban of one point and a month. Even outside of town, the fines are no less drastic, with amounts of up to 700 euros for extreme violations.

Also interesting are the various fixed measuring locations in the district, which are available on the website www.luechow-dannenberg.de/blitzer be published. Speed checks take place at the following locations, among others:

The reactivation and new installation of these measuring systems shows that a good hand is being demonstrated here to increase traffic safety. Drivers now have to pay attention to speed, because there are more controls than ever.
