In addition to the top prize for the best annual film program, it was also about promoting various film categories: Prizes were awarded for the best children's and youth film program, the best short film program and the best documentary program.
A captivating film at Scala
One of the current attractions at Scala is the film “With love, your Hilde”, which was directed by Andreas Dresen. The moving work deals with the true story of Hilde and Hans Coppi, who lived in Berlin during the Second World War. The film, based on the screenplay by Laila Stieler, highlights themes such as decency, resistance and human dignity in times of great danger.
Liv Lisa Fries shines in the leading role as Hilde, while Johannes Hegemann plays Hans Coppi in his screen debut. The gripping plot follows the pregnant Hilde, who actively participates in the resistance actions of the “Red Band”. Unfortunately, there are also brutal reality and arrests in the room, while over 50 members of this resistance group were murdered between 1942 and 1943.
With an impressive cast, including Alexander Scheer and Fritzi Haberlandt, the film shows a powerful picture of civil courage and the strength of the individual in dark times.
This confirms once again: The Scala in Lüneburg is not only a training center for cinematic art, but also a lively place that tells stories that make us think.
