Lower Saxony starts ideas competition: Act actively together!
Today, June 15, 2025, the ideas competition “Act actively together locally” started in Lower Saxony. This initiative aims to encourage active citizens and creative communities to submit their ideas and projects to enrich social life in their region. Whether neighborhood help, sustainable projects or cultural events – the possibilities are diverse. Loud Radio active All creative minds are invited to submit their suggestions by September 15th.
The aim of this competition is not only to promote new ideas, but also to strengthen citizen participation. There are clear goals and support from the state government, which wants to use the competition to create an incentive to become active in their own environment. A jury of experts will decide on the selection of the best projects, expecting a large number of applications.
Legal framework for digital services
Parallel to this initiative, the digital world is also moving. In December 2021, the TDDDG (Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act) came into force, which sets out basic rules for the handling of cookies and other tracking technologies. The TDDDG supplements the GDPR and defines that access to data on end devices may only take place with the consent of the user Dr. Data protection reported. This regulation is particularly important for digital service providers, as they are obliged to use transparent cookie banners that must provide users with clear information and an opt-in function.
These innovations fit into a larger legal context characterized by the ePrivacy Directive, which regulates data protection in electronic communications. The Conference of Independent Data Protection Supervisors published updated guidance in November 2024 to help companies implement the new requirements in a legally compliant manner. The Guidance clarifies how consent should be designed and user rights guaranteed.
Changes and challenges
With the renaming of the TTDSG to TDDDG and the corresponding adjustments in terminology, it becomes clear that access to digital services and the use of cookies are subject to constant changes. Companies now have to set up special procedures to meet data protection requirements and avoid ambiguities. The convergence of legal changes and the citizen engagement initiative highlights the importance of taking responsibility in both the digital and social spheres.
Overall, it shows that Lower Saxony is not only looking for innovative ideas and solutions, but is also ready to tackle the challenges of the digital age aggressively. The ideas competition “Act actively together locally” could therefore be a valuable contribution to strengthening the sense of community and innovative culture in the region. Be there and contribute your ideas!
