Ten years of the Delmenhorst painting workshop: enthusiastic anniversary exhibition!
The Delmenhorst painting workshop is jubilantly celebrating its tenth anniversary, and this will be duly recognized with a special exhibition on November 23rd. Between 80 and 100 pictures are presented in the market hall, which impressively reflect the club's creative work. Again Weser courier reports, the painting workshop was founded in 2015 as the successor to the Berger studio and has since been an important meeting place for art enthusiasts in Delmenhorst.
The painting workshop is artistically directed by Magdalena Jendsen-Vonsien, who not only helps the members with the image design, but also imparts basic theoretical knowledge on topics such as light, shadow and perspective. The club has developed into a place where artists of all ages and abilities can develop their creativity. In addition to regular courses and workshops, trial courses are also offered, which require no previous knowledge for just 15 euros (including materials).
A hub for creativity
The painting workshop, which is located at Lessingstrasse 1, usually has space for up to eight participants. If necessary, this number can be increased, but then it becomes a bit tight. The range of courses ranges from painting and drawing to sculpture and photography and is supported by members through a pleasant and inspiring learning atmosphere. The Contemporary Art Festival highlights that the painting workshop also organizes regular exhibitions and presentations. These are not only open to our own members, but also promote exchange and networking within the art scene in Delmenhorst.
The club currently has 35 members, many of whom have been there since the beginning. The community is made up of professionals, retirees and students, all united by a passion for art. “A good knack for creative collaboration and exchange is cultivated here,” the activists agree. The painting workshop's opening times are Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. as well as in the afternoons and evenings when creativity can sparkle.
A look into the past and the future
The painting workshop's first exhibition took place in the Little House in 2016, and a lot has happened since then. In 2018, the exhibition's motto was “Climate, Art and Other Disasters,” which sought to initiate an important discourse about the role of art in a social context. The move to the new premises on Lessingstrasse during the Corona pandemic represented a further stage in the association's development. The committed art community plans to continue to provide new impulses and launch creative projects in the future.
On the painting workshop's website, which is at malwerkstatt-delmenhorst.de can be found, those interested can find out more about the offers and register for the courses. The painting workshop remains a place of artistic expression that sustainably enriches cultural life in Delmenhorst and brings the importance of art in everyday life back into the spotlight.
