On June 18, 2025, the Osnabrück Migration Center celebrated an impressive tenth anniversary in the Osnabrück district hall. Around 100 guests were on site to celebrate the successes and developments of the work so far. The Migration Centre, which has been active since its founding in 2015, was originally set up to support the integration of EU citizens. But the focus has quickly changed and now also includes the integration of refugees from Syria, Afghanistan and Ukraine. The migration center offers support for people with an immigration history, regardless of their residence status. It works closely with the immigration authorities and integration officers and has built up a broad network of partners. This ranges from authorities and public institutions to volunteer consultants. Diverse support offers
The range of services offered by the migration center is diverse. It includes, among other things, initial orientation and advice, support in professional recognition and individual language support. The language courses are specifically designed to fill gaps in qualifications and optimally prepare participants for the job market. One focus is on municipal employment services for those interested in embarking on new career paths.
Cooperation with economic development agencies and other specialist agencies in the Osnabrück district facilitates access to the labor market and supports the adaptation of qualifications. In this way, participants not only receive the necessary language support, but also the opportunity to develop professionally and gain a foothold in stable employment. The tailor-made offers are designed to support each person individually and to respond to their specific needs.
Integration of refugees in Germany
