Future of the district youth fire department: Exciting plans for 2026 revealed!

On November 14th, the Osnabrück district youth fire department met for a service meeting in the fire station in Oesede and brought some exciting innovations to the table. This was reported by the Osnabrück district fire department. Under the leadership of district youth fire chief Christoph Pieper, the year 2025 was looked back and the course was set for 2026. He let those present know that he would be available for another term of office and emphasized the importance of young talent within the fire department.

Martin Mützel from Glandorf was also presented at the meeting as a candidate for the position of deputy district youth fire chief. The election will take place in March 2024. Benjamin Richter from Hilter took over the management of the competitions department, which was met with great interest. Particular mention was made of the planned simplification of the acquisition of the youth leader card (Juleica), which particularly affects young people between the ages of 16 and 18, as they will now be able to work in parallel in the youth fire brigade and in the operations department.

An exciting camp awaits

A highlight in the coming plans is the district tent camp, which is scheduled to take place in Dorum from July 4th to 11th, 2026. 400 to 450 participants from the region - including guests from Bolbec (France) and Olsztyn (Poland) - are expected. Suggestions for organizing the camp day are varied and range from a visit to the Nordholz air base to a canoe tour in Ritterhude. Registrations should open at the beginning of 2024, according to information from the District newspaper.

In addition, the community of Bruchhausen-Vilsen will also host a large tent camp in 2026. This event will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Bruchhausen-Vilsen youth fire department and could attract up to 2,000 young people and carers from the Diepholz region. Planning for the largest tent camp in Lower Saxony is already underway, despite the short lead time. A five-person organizational team has already come together to get everything on track.

Preparation is everything

A well-organized camp requires meticulous planning Jugendfeuerwehr.de emphasized. The focus here is on adventure and nature, which not only benefits the young people, but also the carers. The duty of supervision during these free periods obviously lies with the carers, and it is important to plan all aspects carefully - from meals to activities to ensuring mobility on site.

Dealing with nature, social responsibility and participation are central aspects of these events. In addition, the infrastructural support from the Bruchhausen-Vilsen community is appreciated, which makes it possible to use the existing supply lines to run the tent camp efficiently. Sponsors and helpers are also requested to support this great event.

During the meeting, district fire chief Ludger Flohre emphasized the importance of youth work and thanked everyone responsible for their tireless commitment. The district youth fire department not only stands for exciting activities, but also for promoting community and interaction between young people and their carers.
