Robbie Williams postpones his album Britpop to February 2026!
Robbie Williams fans need to hold on harder than ever as the wait for his new album has lengthened. How Virgin Radio reports, the release of the long-awaited work, which will be titled “Britpop,” has been postponed to February 2026. The album was originally scheduled to be released at the end of 2025, but changes in schedule led to this decision.
In the meantime, fans can enjoy a taste of the new album as the first single “Rocket” has already been released. This dynamic number was recorded in collaboration with Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath and, according to early reports, promises to be a hit on the concert stage.
The reasons for the postponement
Robbie Williams' marketing department has informed followers via social media of the delayed release and apologized for the inconvenience. However, some fans have expressed their displeasure with the postponement. An interesting theory that has emerged on social media is that the decision may have something to do with competition: Taylor Swift is also planning to release an album at the end of 2025 and is aiming to surpass the Beatles' record of 15 number-one albums in the UK charts.
“Britpop” also brings back some nostalgic memories of the 90s and the British music wave “Cool Britannia”. Williams himself states that he had the idea for the album back in 1995, after his split from Take That. So it's more than just a new work, it's a piece of his musical heritage.
Film projections and other plans
To further celebrate his return to the music scene, Robbie Williams will also star in the film Better Man, a musical biopic that tells the story of his life. This will be available on Paramount+ from March 11th. A quick look at the details: Billboard offers a six-day free trial for new users, making it all the more accessible.
If you want the film on physical media, you can already place your pre-orders for DVD and 4K Ultra HD on Amazon. Better Man is directed by Michael Gracey and features a number of talented actors including Jonno Davies and Alison Steadman.
Live performances in Germany
On top of that, Robbie Williams will be on tour in Germany between June and August with seven sold-out concerts. In Berlin, for example, he will perform at the Waldbühne and fill the Olympic Stadium in Munich. At these performances we can look forward to a presentation of new songs from his upcoming album - a highlight that many fans are already eagerly awaiting.
Overall, it remains to be seen whether the wait for “Britpop” will prove to be worth it, but the anticipation and the signs are not bad.
