Support for non-profit projects in Salzgitter is taking shape: the Konradfonds, an important funding body, released a generous 850,000 euros for a total of 84 projects in the summer of 2025. This represents another important step towards strengthening social cohesion in the region. The board of trustees of the Endlager Konrad Stiftungsgesellschaft mbH recently approved further funding that rewards commitment in a wide variety of areas. 30 project partners have received positive funding commitments, while 20 further project applications still require advice. All in all, around 720,000 euros can be spent on charitable projects this year.

A particular focus is on social initiatives, which account for over two thirds of the funded projects. This includes, among other things, support of 70,000 euros for the renovation of the Salzgitter-Tafel premises and 26,400 euros for the modernization of the hospice initiative's IT and website. The allotment garden associations are also happy about a generous donation: around 340,000 euros will be made available for the purchase of equipment, renovations and renovations. In addition, three fire departments and the DLRG will receive a total of 46,000 euros for modern media and operational equipment.

Particularly important projects

The highest grant of 152,400 euros goes to the Schäferstuhl air sports community. This significant sum will be used to purchase a glider for training purposes. “The funding not only has financial dimensions, but also demonstrates the great importance of voluntary work and the municipal foundation company,” emphasizes Chairman of the Board of Trustees Frank Klingebiel. Such projects not only contribute to the quality of life in Salzgitter, but also strengthen solidarity among the citizens.

Since its founding, the Konradfonds has provided an impressive 18.7 million euros in funding. Annual applications for funding are always possible and the application deadline usually ends on March 31st of each year. For many associations and initiatives, this is an important date for acquiring financial support for their projects.
