Brazen attack in Melbeck: man left with serious injuries!

A shocking incident occurred in the tranquil community of Melbeck that captivated the residents. On October 31, 2025, around 6:55 p.m., a 40-year-old was brutally attacked in front of his apartment on Bahnhofstrasse. According to a report from news.de reported, the attackers, three men in total, were presumably wearing motorcycle helmets when they rang the doorbell without direction and immediately slammed it. The victim suffered serious injuries, including broken bones and cuts.

In a brave act, the 40-year-old was able to alert the police himself after the perpetrators quickly fled. Despite intensive searches, the attackers initially remained unidentified and investigations into the background to the attack are still ongoing. The victim's health status

After the brutal attack, the 40-year-old was immediately given emergency medical care. He was taken to the Lüneburg Clinic and later transferred to a special clinic in Hamburg. Fortunately, the man's condition is stable and his life is not in danger.

More incidents in the region

However, the events in Melbeck are not the only crimes in the region. Immediately after the attack, there were further incidents in Lüneburg. On Saturday evening, around 7:00 p.m., there was a violent argument between a 55-year-old and a 43-year-old in an accommodation. The 55-year-old was taken into custody after he threatened his opponent and violated an existing house ban.

Another incident occurred on the same evening when a 20-year-old caused a traffic accident on the K23 while under the influence of alcohol. His breath alcohol test showed an impressive 1.91 per mille. The young man was slightly injured, while the property damage was in the lower five-digit range.

Investigations and other incidents

Another event that occurred at Uelzen’s “Hundertwasser train station” is particularly tragic. A 55-year-old was pushed into a staircase there by an 18-year-old on the night of July 14, 2024, resulting in a fatal traumatic brain injury. The suspect has now been provisionally arrested as a result of the investigation being carried out by both local detectives. Blood samples were also taken because it was suspected that drugs were involved. The police are also looking for other witnesses to the incident, especially passengers who were on the stairs leading to platform 301.
