Another unfortunate chapter for RASTA Vechta III in the 1st Regionalliga North: On October 13, 2025, the team lost the eagerly awaited derby against Oldenburger TB with 67:84. As in the previous week against TuS Bramsche, the Vechta team had an extremely difficult time at the start of the game and were already 9:29 behind after the first quarter. A botched start that made it difficult to catch up right from the start.
The statistics speak volumes: RASTA III had 20 ball losses, which significantly weakened the team's offensive power. In addition, 11 free throws were missed that could have been decisive. Despite these difficulties, Philip Grothe was able to put in a decent performance with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists in just 16 minutes. Debutant Alen Chojnacki from Poland contributed 9 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.

A look at the second half shows that RASTA III had more difficulty holding up on defense and the Oldenburgers were able to further extend their lead through quick breaks and selective attacks. The highest lead of the game for Oldenburg was 30 points, which made the dominance of the opponent clear. Once again RASTA III had to give up the idea of attempting a comeback.
Next challenges for RASTA Vechta III
With this defeat, the team remains in search of the right form and the necessary points. The next opponent, VfL Stade, is scheduled for October 11, 2025. There is great hope that RASTA III will finally get off to a positive start and overcome the mistakes of the past games. Unfortunately, the number of spectators for the game against Oldenburg remains unknown, but the dedicated supporters continue to be an important support for the young team.
