The city of Vechta will have its new website on July 1, 2025 www.vechta-entdecken.de brought into being. This revision was carried out by the Economic Development Office with the aim of providing comprehensive information about the district and university town. The digital showcase not only shows Vechta's areas of life and offers, but also offers valuable insights for potential skilled workers, as Mayor Kristian Kater explains.
The new homepage is structured into different subject areas: Business & Career, Education & Research, Housing & Living and Leisure & Culture. A clear structure allows users to navigate intuitively through the pages. Particularly noteworthy is the provision of information for families who want to find out everything about childcare options and the school landscape. Leisure activities, shopping opportunities, medical care and living space situations are also clearly presented. The proximity of nature and the city is also emphasized, which makes life in Vechta particularly attractive.
Economic development in focus
Vechta has developed into a so-called “boom region” in recent years, which is not least due to the targeted promotion of regional economic development. Commercial development is being promoted as part of an extensive development program that is linked to a variety of fields of action. The focus areas include retail, training and further education as well as the promotion of tourism and agriculture. These measures are crucial to ensure local supplies and minimize vacancies in town centers.
In order to achieve these goals, innovative approaches and land use are strategically integrated into projects. A strong focus is on the regional marketing of products and the optimization of education as a resource. The return rate of former residents who have moved away for their training or study programs should also be increased.
