WVG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Stadtwerke Wolfsburg, is known for its reliable services and operates a fleet of around 100 buses on 28 routes. The company transports around 40,000 people every day and covers five million kilometers annually, making it an essential part of mobility in the region. Background to the WVG and its role in public transport

Since its founding in 1975, the WVG has played a key role in local public transport in Wolfsburg. Local public transport is important not only for the mobility of the population, but also for the environment. Loud VDV Member companies play a central role in the mobility transition. Every day, these companies transport 26 million passengers by bus and train, replacing over 18 million car trips. This not only has ecological benefits, but also a significant economic effect.

The sustainable mobility economy generates a value of around 118 billion euros in Germany and creates numerous jobs. Every euro in the industry creates additional added value and stimulates the economy. In times of increasing passenger numbers and growing environmental awareness, local public transport is more important than ever.

The three most important pieces of information about the coming changes are therefore clear: From Monday, October 6, 2025, new timetable regulations will come into force, which affect both school trips and the general timing. This is an opportunity for everyone in Wolfsburg to take a closer look at their transport connections.
