A mild summer evening on Lake Allersee in Wolfsburg – the open-air cinema attracts visitors in droves! Wolfsburg Wirtschaft und Marketing GmbH (WMG) invites not only cinema fans, but also families and friends to a cinematic journey in the open air. On August 22nd and 23rd and 29th and 30th, 2025, the sandy beach on the north bank will be the setting for exciting and entertaining film evenings. The entry? For free!
The film screenings start after dusk, around 8:45 p.m., when the sun slowly disappears behind the trees and the screen shines. Exciting films such as “Better Man – The Robbie Williams Story” will be shown on August 22nd and the action-packed film “Thunderbolts” on August 23rd. For younger visitors, the family adventure “Lilo & Stitch” is on the program on August 29th, followed by “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning” on August 30th for all action fans. The right atmosphere
The open-air cinema offers a cozy atmosphere with loungers, benches and the option to bring your own chairs or blankets. The diverse culinary offering is also particularly appreciated: from pizza and arancini to crepes and popcorn, there is something for every taste. Important to know: Payment is made in cash! There are plenty of parking spaces in the surrounding Allerpark, so nothing stands in the way of a relaxing evening at the cinema.
The event owes its success not least to the strong partners and sponsors such as Sparkasse Celle-Gifhorn-Wolfsburg, Audi BKK and the Designer Outlets Wolfsburg. The acquisition of these sponsors begins a year in advance to make such an event possible. Logistics and organization
In the background, WMG has its hands full. According to information from Freizeitregion.de, the team takes care of all aspects of the event, from planning and technology to logistics and advertising. The selection of films and coordination with the service providers are crucial for success. These preparations begin about six months before the event to ensure that everything runs smoothly.
The special outdoor technology for the screen is provided by an external company. The construction of the technology starts on Friday mornings and ends shortly before the start of the demonstration. After the film evenings, everything is safely dismantled and prepared for the next event. This not only ensures an entertaining but also a well-organized cinema experience.
