Wolfsburg rocks the weekend: festivals, concerts and cultural highlights!

An exciting weekend is coming up in Wolfsburg, which promises numerous events from June 20th to 22nd that have something for every taste. From cultural highlights to festive activities, entertainment is guaranteed.

On Friday, June 20th, World Refugee Day will be celebrated in the beer garden of the indoor swimming pool. Under the motto “Old roots in the heart, new roots in the world”, visitors can take part in information stands and hands-on activities, as well as enjoy a wide range of culinary offerings. DJane Soundister will provide the musical accompaniment, and the whole thing starts at 4 p.m. with free entry. Afterwards there will be a concert by the band Veeble in the Baroque Garden, which starts at 7:30 p.m. and impresses with a mix of Afro-Latin grooves, rock 'n' roll and more.

Cultural highlights

Saturday, June 21st, has an extensive program in store. In the morning, the family day on the summer stage and the “Summer Closing” party in the sauna club invite you to spend the day together. While the family day offers hands-on activities, live performances and a musical theater piece from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., night owls can dance to the beats of DJs Simon Jetzke and Zato from 10 p.m. Singer-songwriter Luca Noel will also provide a musical treat in the Baroque Garden before the Local Hero Festival starts in the Musikhof. Regional bands such as Karl Mags, If Worlds Collide and Deus Defektor present their latest works here.

Another highlight of the day is the summer party at the Wolfsburg Hotz and Heitmann car dealership, which awaits visitors from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tempting prizes and a colorful program are on the agenda. If you're lucky, you can win one of four cars to lease or a vacation in a motorhome!

Back to nature

Sunday brings a special event with the picnic concert at Wolfsburger Allersee with the motto “Water connects a region”. From 3 p.m. onwards, all music lovers are invited to end the day in a relaxed manner. There are also two flea markets: at the Herzensmarkt at Lasertag Revolution and at the S. V. Jugendhaus Ost, the proceeds of which go to refugee aid.

But that’s not all – the Wolfsburg Art Museum is opening the exhibition “Leandro Erlich. Weightless” on the same Friday. This presents large-format installations that deal with topics such as science, technology and global refugee movements. The exhibition runs from June 19th to July 2nd and offers daily opening hours from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and until 9:00 p.m. on certain days. Tickets cost 15 euros for adults, 10 euros for concessions. A real experience for art lovers!
